Kristina Flemming, APRN
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Independent Contractor Provider (ICP) †
Biography
I’m Kristina, a Yale Psychiatry trained psychiatric nurse practitioner who offers client centered telepsychiatry and reproductive psychiatry services.
My areas of focus are depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and PTSD. I also specialize in perinatal psychiatry and hold a certificate from Postpartum Support International. In my work in this field, I enjoy partnering with individuals and their families as they decide on starting or continuing psychiatric medications from trying to conceive through pregnancy and postpartum. I rely on the most current research and evidence when making recommendations and supporting client’s preferences. I also provide one-time consultations and can partner with your current providers (midwives, OBGYNs, WHNPs, psychiatrists, and PMHNPs).
Coming from academic medicine, my prescribing philosophy is rooted in evidence-based practice and shared decision making. I believe psychiatric medications can help people show up in their lives whether that means being able to engage fully with their families, friends or colleagues or utilizing therapeutic techniques. I aim to create therapeutic relationships with my clients that feel authentic and tailored to individuals’ needs. Our sessions don’t focus on symptom management. They are conversations that go deep so we can develop a holistic treatment plan.
