Biography
I’m Erica Adler, LCSW, a psychotherapist specializing in women’s mental health. My areas of focus include anxiety and stress management, eating disorders, and the emotional transitions surrounding pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood. I earned my MSW from Fordham University and have provided care across hospital, residential, and outpatient settings, including Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, and several eating‑disorder treatment centers. My approach to eating‑disorder and body‑image work is grounded in attunement, compassion, and a deep respect for the emotional complexity of these struggles.
As a mother of two young children, I draw on both personal and professional experience in my clinical work. This perspective strengthens my understanding of the profound identity shifts that accompany pregnancy and early motherhood. I know how becoming a parent can expand a woman’s capacity for love while simultaneously challenging her sense of self, her relationships, and the balance between who she was and who she is becoming. I am especially passionate about supporting women through this transition, offering steady guidance as they navigate the evolving identities of motherhood, partnership, and career. My style is warm, grounded, and deeply attuned to the emotional nuances of this season of life. I strive to create a space where women feel understood, supported, and steady as they move through one of life’s most transformative experiences.
Across my practice, I am also drawn to supporting women and men experiencing anxiety, identity shifts, and the pressures of daily life. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and evidence‑based, integrating cognitive‑behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and relational work. My goal is to help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful and lasting change.
